Murat Kacira is director of the Controlled Environment Agriculture Center and a professor in the Biosystems Engineering Department at the University of Arizona. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Engineering in Cukurova University in Turkey, and his Masters of Science and Ph.D. degrees in Food, Agricultural, and Biological Engineering from the Ohio State University in the United States.
Dr. Kacira’s research focuses on greenhouse and plant energy balance, as well as computer vision guided autonomous plant health studies and growth monitoring systems. Additional research includes modeling and simulation of aerodynamics in controlled environment agriculture systems and photovoltaic integrated greenhouse systems.
As a controlled environment aquaponics and agriculture consultant, Dr. Kacira is an invaluable asset to Fusion Farms and is helping us design and implement optimal strategies and systems for our productive and sustainable hurricane protected aquaponics farms in Puerto Rico!
